Transmit Beamspace DDMA Based Automotive MIMO Radar

The time division multiple access (TDMA) technique has been applied in automotive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. However, it suffers from the transmit energy loss, and as a result parameter estimation performance degradation when number of elements increases. To tackle these problems, beamspace (TB) Doppler (DDMA) approach is proposed. First, phase modulation matrix with empty spectrum introduced. By exploiting spectrum, test function based on sequential detection developed to mitigate ambiguity DDMA waveform. Then, discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based TB slow-time formed. proposed method can achieve waveform diversity domain generate that concentrates transmitted power fixed spatial region improve distribution for MIMO radar, which favored by medium/long range radar (MRR/LRR) applications. As compared conventional TDMA technique, fully exploit transmission capabilities all ensure emitted efficiently used inherits easy implementation.Moreover, avoids trade-off between active each antenna element frame due mitigation.
